Whole coal antimony in all West Virginia coal beds shows a distribution skewed toward lower abundances with a mean of 1.02 ppm (± 1.15 ppm) on a whole coal basis and tailed toward higher values. A single coal sample containing 23.3 ppm antimony was observed in a bench of the No. 5 Block coal. Antimony does not correlate with ash yield (r = +0.1176), total sulfur, pyritic sulfur or other trace elements.
