Trace Elements in West Virginia Coals
The
geographic distribution of whole coal selenium content shows that south
central West Virginia counties have coals containing the highest selenium
contents. This region is where Allegheny and upper Kanawha coals containing
the most selenium are mined. Most coals contain less than 8 ppm whole coal
selenium.
