Trace Elements in West Virginia Coals
Highest
rubidium coals are located in the southern West Virginia coalfield in Logan,
Boone, McDowell and Wyoming counties where the Pocahontas No. 8, Coalburg
and Stockton coals are mined and in a deep drill core Brush Creek coal
sample from Wetzel County (see cautionary
note page). Most coals statewide contained low to moderate
amounts of whole coal rubidium.
