WV GIS Strategic Plan

The GIS Policy Council is overseeing the development of a modernized GIS Strategic Plan for West Virginia (1.4 MB PDF). The State GIS Steering Committee, chaired by the State GIS Coordinator and appointed by the GIS Policy Council, is charged with development and implementation of the plan in collaboration with West Virginia's GIS community.

The GIS Steering Committee worked hard developing a Statewide GIS Strategic Plan. In order to make the planning process as transparent as possible, planning progress reports and drafts were distributed among all members of the GIS Steering Committee for comment and input.

On January 26, 2011, the WV GIS Strategic Plan (1.4 MB PDF) was presented to the GIS Policy Council and approved unanimously.
